SimpleSlip is an online payslip management service operated in South Africa. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

- Company information — your business name and address details
- Employee information — names, ID numbers, passport numbers, bank account details, salary information, and contact details that you enter for your employees
- Payment information — subscription and billing information processed securely by PayFast
- Usage information — how you interact with our service, including log data and IP addresses
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the SimpleSlip service
- Generate payslips on your behalf
- Process subscription payments
- Send transactional emails such as verification and password reset emails
- Respond to support queries
- Improve our service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.
4. Employee data
As an employer using SimpleSlip, you are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary consent from your employees to store their personal information on our platform. SimpleSlip acts as an operator of this data on your behalf.
Sensitive employee information including ID numbers, passport numbers, and bank account numbers is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption.
5. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
6. Third party services
We use the following third party services:
- PayFast — payment processing. Subject to PayFast's privacy policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Railway — server infrastructure and hosting
- Cloudflare — content delivery and DDoS protection
7. Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to the processing of your information

8. Security
